Roberto Bautista Agut v Pedro Martinez Preview
World number 16 Bautista Agut has a relatively straightforward second round opponent in the form of 97th-ranked Martinez in what will be their first ever meeting at any competitive level.
That being said, Bautista Agut isn’t coming off anything substantial, form-wise, to feel that confident on clay. He had earlier been knocked out in the second round at French Open and following his stint on grass, the Spaniard won just six games in his straight-set loss to Arthur Rinderknech in his opener at Gstaad.
A reset button is the need of the hour for Bautista Agut who is 7-6 on clay this season and after a first round bye, he will hope he can ease past Martinez. The fellow Spaniard registered a three-set win over Lucas Pouille in the opening round, defeating him 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-4 in a battle that went on for two hours and 45 minutes.
Battle-hardened, Martinez also has had a break of a day between the matches, and could give Bautista Agut a run for his money here.
Bautista Agut v Martinez Tip
Martinez to win a set – Yes: 4/6 (bet365)
Filip Krajinovic v Carlos Taberner Preview
World number 33 Krajinovic will be up against the 108th-ranked Taberner in what could be another interesting second round match. They had once played each other long ago on the Challenger circuit, again on clay, with Krajinovic having come through 6-1, 6-1 to make it to the final.
This time around one can expect a better challenge from Taberner who is slowly moving up the rankings on the back of his form on clay and is currently at his career-best.
The Spaniard has already won two Challenger titles this year and while he is yet to break the second round mark on the main ATP tour, Taberner will feel confident because of the way he came back to win his opener here. A qualifier, Taberner defeated Thiago Seyboth Wild 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to seal his second round berth.
Krajinovic was a finalist not too long ago through, having made the title-decider in Hamburg and followed it up with a quarterfinal at Umag. He might face some difficulties but should come through, may be in three.
Krajinovic v Taberner Tip
Krajinovic to win AND Over 20.5 games in the match: 8/5 (bet365)

Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune v Arthur Rinderknech Preview
This is bit of a battle between two upcoming players although one of them is 18 and the other, 26 years old. Rune and Rinderknech have never faced off in a competitive match before this and are coming off solid performances for their first ever meeting.
Rune, a qualifier who won both his pre-main draw rounds in straight sets, demolished Stefano Travaglia 6-3, 6-4 to move into the second. On the other hand, Rinderknech was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Federico Delbonis, another favourite to win that encounter.
Which is why this could be an exciting encounter between players who are only just finding their feet at the highest level, upsetting the current order on clay in the process. And while Rinderknech starts off a favourite at 8/15 to win this, we believe it could get tight here.
Rune v Rinderknech Tip
Three sets in the match: 6/4 (bet365)
Jiri Vesely v Jozef Kovalik Preview
Vesely will resume his attempt to climb back up the ATP rankings when the 86th-ranked player takes on world number 131 Jozef Kovalik for a place in the quarterfinal.
Having once been 35th in the world, Vesely’s fall in his ranking has been well-chronicled and winning his opener against Ernests Gulbis here would have been a matter of relief. It was a rare main draw victory for the Czech this season.
He faces a player who is coming off a shock result in the first round with Kovalik having defeated Jaume Munar of Spain in his opener. Having gone into that match at 2/1 odds, Kovalik upset Munar 6-4, 6-4 to register his first main draw win since April.
And he could prove to be a handful for the struggling Vesely here.
Vesely v Kovalik Tip
Kovalik to win: 6/5 (bet365)
