Casper Ruud v Mario Vilella Martinez Preview
World number 14 Ruud will look to continue from where he has left off over the last two weeks when he takes on Mario Vilella Martinez in his second round match here in Kitzbuhel.
The Norwegian, who is ranked 14th in the world, has already won three titles this season – all of which came on clay – and two of them came in the past two weeks. At Bastad, he didn’t lose a set all week while at Gstaad, he went on to win the final defeating Hugo Gaston 6-3, 6-2.
And after a first round bye, Ruud starts off as huge favourite against Vilella Martinez, who has never been in the top 150 on the ATP Rankings, came through as a lucky loser in this tournament and scraped through to a win against Lukas Neumayer in three sets.
Ruud should have no trouble here.
Ruud v Vilella Martinez Tip
Games Handicap Ruud -5.5: 10/11 (bet365)
Mikael Ymer v Alexander Erler Preview
World number 99 Ymer will take on 337th-ranked Erler in the second round in what will be their first meeting as well.
Ymer wasn’t quite a favourite coming into his opener against Pablo Cuevas but with a quarterfinal under his belt at Gstaad last week, he did have some confidence coming in. And that showed as Ymer dispatched his opponent in straight sets.
On the other hand, the 23-year-old Erler is a shock entrant into the second round. Having never been ranked in the top 330 on the ATP charts, Erler hasn’t played in ATP main draw tennis before this and when he did he was up against talented youngster and heavy favourite Carlos Alcaraz.
Erler was 8/1 to win this and he came back from the loss of the second set to complete a 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 win over his Spanish opponent, who did look exhausted through the course of the encounter.
Ymer, however, should hold the edge here and come through.
Ymer v Erler Tip
Ymer to win: 3/10 (bet365)

Albert Ramos-Vinolas v Gianluca Mager Preview
The 43-ranked Ramos-Vinolas will be up against the world number 74 Mager in their second round match in Kitzbuhel.
Ramos-Vinolas had been struggling to get his rhythm going into Umag Open last week but scooted into the semifinal before going down to Carlos Alcaraz. That would have helped him regain some of his lost confidence.
Here, the Spaniard had a first round bye and now faces Mager, who routed Dennis Novak in his opener. Mager won 6-4, 6-0 and will now be aiming for only his second quarterfinal appearance on clay this season.
The Spaniard, however, will be a favourite here but it could go into three sets.
Ramos-Vinolas v Mager Tip
Ramos-Vinolas to win in three sets: 3/1 (bet365)
Marco Cecchinato v Daniel Altmaier Preview
A finalist at Parma Open earlier this year, this is now the fourth successive clay court tournament since then that has seen Cecchinato make it to the second round. This time around it came at the expense of Radu Albot.
What Cecchinato would like to do is break a run of his previous two successive second round defeats which came at Bastad and Umag and try get past this hurdle. The Italian had made it through to the third round at French Open and will hope he can emulate that feat here.
Standing in his way is the 135th-ranked Altmaier, who shocked Laslo Djere in a three-setter in his opening match. Altmaier came back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 but it might not have been that big a result given the German was himself coming off a semifinal appearance in Hamburg last week.
As a qualifier there, Altmaier had defeated Corentin Moutet, Gianluca Mager and Dusan Lajovic to reach that far.
Can he make a match out of this?
Altmaier v Cecchinato Tip
Three sets in the match: 6/4 (bet365)
