Raonic Returns to Action
Former World No. 3 Milos Raonic is making a comeback on the tour after being out for months with a calf injury. The big-serving Canadian will make his debut in Atlanta after he accepted a wild card for the tournament.
Currently ranked 22nd in the world, Raonic is chasing a ninth career title but hasn’t won one since 2016.
The 22-year-old last featured at the Miami Open, going down to Hubert Hurkacz in the Round of 16. He also reached the fourth round at the Australian Open, but couldn’t find a way past Novak Djokovic.
The runner-up in Cincinnati last year, Raonic will be hoping to hit his stride in Atlanta but faces a difficult first round against an in-form Nakashima.

Nakashima Continues to Impress
He played some outstanding tennis in Los Cabos, produced stunning upsets and reached a first career final. Now he seems to be hungry for more.
The calm and collected Brandon Nakashima moved into the second round of the Atlanta Open despite being taken to three sets by fellow countryman Trent Bryde in the first round.
Nakashima dominated the first set, breaking his opponent twice on his way to a 6-1 lead, but Bryde came back strongly taking the second in the tiebreak.
Both held their serves for the first nine games in the third, before Nakashima got the only break of the set and wrapped up the two-hour-and-27-minute contest 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4.
The 19-year-old American moved 19 places to 115th in the rankings this week and will be aiming for more glory at the backend of the tour to continue his rise.
Raonic v Nakashima Prediction and Tip
Raonic hasn’t had match practice for some time now, while Nakashima is in great touch. The American defeated Sam Querrey, Jordan Thompson and John Isner last week and will be eager to pull off another upset. Expect this contest to go the distance.
