Dayana Yastremska v Claire Liu Head to Head
Dayana Yastremska has been involved in just one head-to-head battle on grass with Claire Liu, with the American prevailing. The San Jose outing represents an opportunity for the Ukrainian to even the score with Liu.

Yastremska Records Semifinal Finish at German Open
Currently ranked 46th in singles, Yastremska snapped a run of unflattering returns from the court by surging to the semifinals of the German Open.
The 21-year-old Ukrainian opened her campaign with a straight-set romp over Magdalena Frech of Poland before recording an upset victory over veteran Italian star Sara Errani.
After taking the opening set in a tiebreak, Yastremska seized on a decisive break of serve over the Italian in the second set to sail home by an eventual margin of 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
However, even after bagging the opening set against Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania in the last-four, the Ukrainian lost her way to go down in three sets.
Having lost her only previous match against Claire Liu, Yastremska will be determined to get her own back at the American.
While she showed that she has the game to excel on grass at the German Open, hard court presents its own set of challenges and it will be interesting to see if she can hold her own against a tricky opponent on concrete.

Liu Reached Swedish Open Quarters
Ranked narrowly outside the Top-100 in singles currently, Liu cleared the qualifiers to ensure passage to the main women’s draw at this year’s Wimbledon Championships.
Taking her confidence from the qualifiers into the main rounds, the American cleared the first hurdle, getting the better of seasoned Japanese star Misaki Doi in the opening round.
Though she went down to Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan in the second round, she played well enough to affirm that she belongs at the highest level.
Taking her lessons from Wimbledon into the Swedish Open, Liu reached the last-eight on the back of a couple of impressive wins but crashed out in the quarters after losing in straight sets to Nuria Parrizas-Dias of Spain.
However, she will go into the San Jose opener in the hope of doing an encore over Yastremska.
Yastremska v Liu Prediction and Tip
Taking the momentum from her last-four run at the German Open, Yastremska should fancy going level with Liu on head-to-head count in the San Jose opener. But the American will be just as determined to make it 2 out of 2 over the Ukrainian.
Tip: Yastremska to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
