Nishikori Looking To Capitalize On Promising Week in Tokyo
Kei Nishikori who was once ranked number four in the world, has had a difficult few seasons mixed with injuries, long layoffs, poor form and Covid-19 itself as he is ranked just within the top 70 in the world now.
Once ranked fourth in the world, Nishikori has suffered from injury, pandemic absence and Covid-19 itself to fall from the highs and consistency he was accustomed to.
The Japanese tennis star had a good run this week at his home Olympics in Tokyo, making the final eight and despite being outplayed by Novak Djokovic, will take pride from his run and victories like the one against world number seven Andrey Rublev in the opening round.
Nishikori was the runner-up at the 2014 US Open as well as semi-finalist in 2016 and will be looking to rekindle similar form on the US hard courts this time around.

Querrey Hoping To Revive Hard Court Form Of Past
American Sam Querrey was a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2017 and made the final eight at the US Open the same year, knocking on the top ten of the ATP ranking and using his big serve and forehand well on the hard courts.
It has been a drop in form and fitness for the American in the last couple seasons and this season has not been much better.
After losing his openers at Australian Open and Miami Open, Querrey looked to have found some of his rhythm back on grass making the finals of the ATP 250 in Mallorca where he was runner-up to Daniil Medvedev.
Another string of poor results followed with a second round loss at Wimbledon, followed by opening round losses at Newport and Los Cabos. If the American was hoping that a switch to the US hard courts would change fortunes, that was setback by another first round loss last week in Atlanta by German Peter Gojowczyk.
With a number of hard court events on the calendar in the coming week, Querrey will be looking to get into the winning habit and confident sooner rather than later.
Nishikori v Querrey Prediction and Tip
Both players continue to attempt to revive their seasons and in turn their careers as they continue to produce mixed, inconsistent results. Expect Nishikori to start as the favorite given some good wins last week at the Olympics.
The Japanese to prevail in two tight sets.
Tip: Nishikori to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
