Kei Nishikori v Alexander Bublik Head to Head
Kei Nishikori and Alexander Bublik have never gone head to head before. However. both are seasoned campaigners on the men’s Tour and it will be fascinating to see how they sense each other’s strengths and weaknesses in their first ever face-off.

Nishikori Coming off Djokovic Defeat
Carrying his nation’s hopes in men’s tennis at the Tokyo Olympics, Nishikori got himself into the quarter-finals raising visions of bringing home a medal on the biggest stage.
However, the veteran Japanese star was simply no match for current World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the last eight, as the Serbian crushed him in straight sets to storm into the semifinals.
A mere shadow of the player who attained the career-high ranking of No.4 in singles on March 2, 2015, Nishikori hasn’t had much to write home about this season, barring last-eight finishes at the Rotterdam and Dubai Tour events.
His Grand Slam runs this year haven’t been memorable either. After crashing to a first-round loss to Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta at the Australian Open, Nishikori, aided by a third-round walkover by Henri Laaksonen of Switzerland, took some strides down the redemption road by reaching the fourth round at Roland-Garros.
However, a second-round exit at Wimbledon after an agonizing four-set loss to Australian Jordan Thompson set back him in his quest to salvage an underwhelming season.
Desperate to find form ahead of the US Open, the Japanese star opened his Washington campaign with an emphatic win over veteran American Sam Querrey.
However, he has to clear a tricky hump in the form of Bublik to go deeper in the tournament.

Bublik Reached Newport Semifinals
Bublik will go into his Washington opener against Nishikori on the back of a semifinal run at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships at Newport, US and a third-round finish earlier at Wimbledon.
Currently hogging the 39th place in singles, the 24-year-old Kazakh star has had fairly encouraging returns from his court outings this season, most notably quarter-final runs at Miami, Madrid and Eastbourne, followed by impressive finishes at Wimbledon and Newport.
Narrowly losing to veteran South African Kevin Anderson in the last-four clash at Newport, Bublik has hopes of starting on a winning note against Nishikori in his Washington opener.
Nishikori v Bublik Prediction and Tip
Though he has never been involved in a head-to-head battle with Nishikori, Bublik, on current form and on the evidence of his recent run of results, is expected to sail into the last 16 at Washington.
However, Nishikori, th0ugh not quite the same player he once used to be, could still be a handful for higher ranked opponents on his day.
Tip: Bublik to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
