Jannik Sinner v Emil Ruusuvuori Head to Head
Jannik Sinner and his promising Finnish opponent Emil Ruusuvuori have been involved in just one career, head-to-head till date. They faced each other in the last 16 of the Miami Open, the season’s first ATP Masters 1000, this year. The Italian got over the line by a fairly comfortable margin.

Sinner Coming off Early Atlanta Loss
After the high of a runner-up finish at this year’s Miami Open, Sinner hasn’t had the run of results going his way this season.
Already talked off highly in the circuit, the 19-year-old Italian, barring a run to the semifinals at Barcelona Open, had a sequence of underwhelming performances in calendar events, across surfaces, thereafter.
Setting up a repeat of his absorbing 2020 clash against 13-time champion Rafael Nadal, Sinner went down to the Spaniard again in straight sets at the Roland-Garros.
He fared even worse at the Wimbledon Championships, crashing out in the opening round after losing to Hungarian Marton Fucsovics.
The Atlanta Open marked his return to the Tour post the All England shocker. However, the break in between the two events didn’t seem to have done his confidence any good as the Italian fell to a straight-set defeat in his Atlanta opener against unheralded Australian Christopher O’Connell.
However, he did redeem himself a tad by lifting the doubles title partnering big-serving American Reilly Opelka.
Coming into the Washington Open, Sinner has an opportunity to haul his season back on track and give himself a measure of confidence and belief ahead of the US Open with a title run in the US capital.

Ruusuvuori Battles Past Gunneswaran
Coming off a semifinal finish at the Atlanta Open, Ruusuvuori opened his Washington campaign with a come-from-behind victory Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India.
After dropping the opening set, the Finn turned the tide his way by coasting the next two sets.
However, in his next, he faces a determined Sinner, who would want to start his campaign on a winning note.
Ruusuvuori’s surge to the Atlanta final included an upset of higher-ranked British star Cameron Norrie in the quarter-final and a victory by virtue of a walkover from veteran French star Benoit Paire.
The Finn would hope for another big effort against the teen sensation from Italy in the Washington opener.
Sinner v Ruusuvuori Prediction and Tip
Though Sinner won their only previous head-to-head meeting, Ruusuvuori is quite capable of putting one past him. While the bets would hedge slightly in favor of the Italian, expect the Finn to make a match of it.
Tip: Sinner to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
