Felix Auger-Aliassime v Jenson Brooksby Head to Head

20-year-old Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated Andreas Seppi in his opening match of the Washington Open 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, to reach the third round. That marks his first win over the Italian as the Canadian teenager now looks to deliver a similar result against his American counterpart.
The youngster has enjoyed a terrific season so far – two runner-up trophies from the Murray River Open and Stuttgart Open, and a career-best singles ranking of World No. 15.
Keeping aside his first-round exit in the Olympics to the #198-ranked Max Purcell, Felix has reached the penultimate round in his last three tournaments on the tour. Following the runner-up feat in Stuttgart, he reached the semifinal in Halle (beating Roger Federer and Hubert Hurkacz) and the quarterfinal in Wimbledon (upsetting Alexander Zverev en route).
He is among the most consistent players on the ATP Tour in 2021 and certainly looks primed for another deep run here in Washington.

Brooksby Continues to Impress
Not a lot of people may have heard of the current World No. 130 Jenson Brooksby but he is on the path to change that soon.
Starting with a wildcard in the Washington Open, he first defeated the South African veteran and two-time Grand Slam finalist Kevin Anderson 7-6(4), 6-3. In the next round, he met his compatriot Frances Tiafoe and handed him a similar, straight-set defeat to reach round three.
These results are not entirely surprising, given that Brooskby has spent a better part of the current season on the Challenger tour, working hard and gaining some experience. He has reached four Challenger finals and gone the distance in three of those.
In fact, he was just as brilliant in the ATP Newport Open where he reached his maiden ATP final (ultimately losing to Anderson).
Auger-Aliassime v Brooksby Prediction and Tip
This is a match that can very well go either way. Brooksby is looking sharp has been absolutely brilliant in American tournaments this year. On the other hand, Auger-Aliassime has got more ATP experience and far ‘bigger’ wins under his belt which automatically gives him an edge here.
Expect an intriguing game of tennis, one that has all the markings of being a three-setter.
