Petra Kvitova v Camila Giorgi Head to Head
The head to head tally stands at 1-1 with Giorgi getting the last laugh. They met in the Round of 16 in the 2019 WTA Sydney where the Italian won in straight sets.

Kvitova Overcomes Ferro with Ease
Starting with a bye into the second round here in Montreal, the number seven seed Petra Kvitova defeated Fiona Ferro in her opening match with 6-4, 6-4.
Kvitova’s season so far has been fairly uneventful as she hunts for a resurgence in the US Open series. Her performance in the last couple of tournaments was definitely below par – the current World No. 12 was beaten in the early rounds of the Tokyo Olympics, Prague Open, and Wimbledon Championships.
Among the highlights of her season is a semifinal run in WTA Bad Homburg, a quarterfinal appearance in the Madrid Open and WTA Stuttgart, and a fourth-round appearance in the Miami Open. Additionally, the 31-year-old also won the WTA Qatar to become one of the few players on the WTA Tour to win titles across three decades.
But the fact that Kvitova has fallen to the likes of Danka Kovinic, Vera Zvonareva, Rebecca Sramkova, and other lesser-ranked players this season doesn’t bode that well for her form.

Giorgi, On a Roll
After defeating Elise Mertens in straight sets in the opener, Camila Giorgi moved on to deliver a similar result against the Argentinean Nadia Podoroska. She beat her opponent 6-2, 6-4, to make yet another third-round appearance on the tour this season.
Her win-loss tally at the moment stands at 19-12 (Kvitova’s is 20-12), courtesy of her semifinal appearance in Eastbourne International and a quarterfinal run in WTA Lyon. In other tournaments, however, Giorgi has succumbed in the early rounds.
Before arriving in Montreal, Giorgi featured in the Olympics where she reached the quarterfinal without dropping a set. Even though consistency hasn’t been a strong suit for the 29-year-old, she did beat a few top players this year like Karolina Pliskova, Aryna Sabalenka, and Jennifer Brady.
Can she add Kvitova to this list?
Kvitova v Giorgi Prediction and Tip
Kvitova hasn’t made it past the third round in the Canadian Open since 2013. Her chances of doing so again look a bit slim, given Giorgi’s recent form. That said, she will still start as the favourite owing to her overall pedigree and experience.
