Diego Schwartzman v Dan Evans Head to Head

Schwartzman Will Aim to Overcome Toronto Disappointment
Having thrown away three match points in his Round of 16 defeat to Roberto Bautista Agut in Toronto, Schwartzman will look to make amends in Cincinnati this week.
Ranked No. 14, the Argentine will be making his fifth main draw appearance in Cincinnati, but a 3-4 record is a reflection of his past struggles in the ATP 1000 event.
So far it’s been a mixed season for Schwartzman, with moments of brilliance interspersed with heartbreaking losses, like the one inflicted by Bautista Agut in Canada. Overall he is 21-14 this year, which includes a title success in Buenos Aires, and a quarterfinal finish at Roland Garros, where he took the first set of Rafael Nadal, before bowing out in four.
While clay brings the best out of Schwartzman, he is a pretty decent player on hard courts as well, with five of his 11 finals coming on the surface. But Los Cabos 2019 remains his only hard court title, with the other three triumphs coming on clay.

Evans on a Three-Match Losing Streak
He began the season by winning the Melbourne-2 title, then failed to get going in the following hard court tournaments. He peaked again in Monte-Carlo, but lost his way once again, before producing a couple of decent results during the grass court season. But ever since his third round exit from Wimbledon, Dan Evans has struggled to register a win.
The Briton lost in the first round in Washington to Brandon Nakashima and was dumped out by Alexander Bublik in the opening round of the Canadian Open.
So signs aren’t too encouraging as Evans heads to Cincinnati with a 16-14 record in 2021, but he will take heart from the fact that throughout the season he has shown the ability to come back after every long spell of disappointing results.
Also, he is one of five players to have beaten the World No. 1 this year, and will be looking to draw inspiration from that successful Monte-Carlo campaign, where he also defeated higher-ranked players in Hubert Hurkacz, David Goffin and Dusan Lajovic before falling to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals.
Schwartzman v Evans Prediction and Tip
Schwartzman is the seeded player and his form hasn’t been too bad, while Evans has clearly struggled in the last two tournaments. Expect the Argentine to move into the second round.
