Lloyd Harris v Yoshihito Nishioka Head to Head
This is the first meeting between the two players on the ATP Tour.

Harris, Playing Consistently in the American Swing
24-year-old Lloyd Harris of South Africa is enjoying a decent spell in the US Open series, at least by his standards.
In the Washington Open, he reached the quarterfinal after upsetting Rafael Nadal en route, only to succumb to Kei Nishikori. The following week in the Rogers Cup, he reached the Round of 16 where he was beaten by Reilly Opelka.
While consistency, on the whole, hasn’t been a strong suit for Harris, he has shown glimpses of brilliance on a handful of occasions. The best example of this is his run in the ATP Dubai earlier in the season where, as a qualifier, he stormed into the final after defeating Dominic Thiem, Kei Nishikori, and Denis Shapovalov. He ultimately lost to Aslan Karatsev.
That sensational performance was followed by a bunch of early-round exits in the clay swing which somewhat halted his rise in the rankings. But now that he is not hard courts again, Harris is in his element to deliver another deep run.

Nishioka Starting as a Qualifier
World No. 57 Yoshihito Nishioka started as a qualifier here in Cincinnati and most recently defeated Ricardas Berankis to reach the main draw.
He has had a pretty uneventful season so far which can be neatly summarised with a win-loss tally of 9-18. His best runs include a quarterfinal appearance in the ATP Singapore, Lyon, and Parma.
In every other tournament, the 25-year-old Japanese has lost in the early rounds, including the Canadian Masters last week where he succumbed to Frances Tiafoe in the opener after navigating the qualifiers.
It may also be worth mentioning that it is the first time Nishioka was a quarterfinalist in Cincinnati last year but withdrew in the match against David Goffin due to an injury.
Harris v Nishioka Prediction and Tip
This will be an interesting one. Harris will start as the favourite owing to his consistent performances but Nishioka has got the goods to deliver the upset – the only issue is whether he can dig deep and find his form.
