Cristian Garin v Tommy Paul Head to Head
This will be their first tour-level meetings. They met once at a Challenger level though, with Garin winning in straight sets.

Garin Yet to Win in Cincinnati
While he thrives on clay, his struggles on hard surfaces are pretty obvious. He has played just three events on hard courts this year, but is yet to win a match on the surface.
Winner of the Chile Open title this year, Garin brings an 18-13 record to Cincinnati, where he is yet to win a match, having lost his opening round matches in 2019 and 2020.
Last week, Garin lost in the second round of the Canadian Open to John Isner after being handed a first round bye. Isner, who had not beaten the Chilean in their previous two matches, lost teh first set, but forged his way back into the contest to advance.
A 15-29 career record on hard courts doesn’t make Garin a favourite in this tournament, but he will be looking to draw inspiration from his 2019 Paris Masters effort, where he reached the quarterfinals.

Paul Edges Past Sandgren to Qualify
Tommy Paul edged out compatriot Tennys Sandgren in the second qualifying round on Sunday to advance to the main draw. Overcoming the first set deficit, the World No. 56 converted six of 12 break points and saved nine of 13 to win the contest 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
On Saturday, Paul had beaten Kwon Soon-woo in straight sets in the first qualifying round.
The World No. 56, who reached the Parma semifinal earlier this season, had entered the second round of the Canadian Masters last week. Having come through the qualifiers, Paul defeated Vasek Pospisil in the first round, but fell to Roberto Bautista Agut in the second round.
The 24-year-old who has a 28-31 career record on hard courts, is 6-9 on the surface this year and was a quarterfinalist in Rotterdam.
Garin v Paul Prediction and Tip
Expect this to be a close contest. While Garin is the seeded player, he has struggled on hard surfaces and Paul would like to make the most of the opportunity. Three sets seem imminent in the contest.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
