Daniil Medvedev v Mackenzie McDonald Head to Head
Medvedev brings an untarnished 4-0 head-to-head record over McDonald. Three of those victories came on hard courts including this year’s Australian Open Round of 16 encounter.

Medvedev Begins Quest For Second Cincy Title
Daniil Medvedev will attempt to become the first man in eight years to win the Canada-Cincinnati double if he can successfully clinch his second title at the Western & Southern Open this week.
In the absence of World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, the Russian has retained his status as the top seed at the last Masters 1000 tournament before the US Open.
Medvedev was in scintillating form at last week’s Canada Masters in Toronto, taking down three towering figures in the shape of Hubert Hurkacz, John Isner, and Reilly Opelka en route to his fourth career title at Masters level.
Medvedev will look to join an illustrious list of players to win the American Swing Masters double sandwiched between Wimbledon and US Open. The likes of Rafael Nadal (the last man to do so), Andy Roddick, and Andre Agassi have accomplished this colossal feat.
And having soaked up his moment of success in Toronto, Medvedev had two days of rest after getting a bye in the opening round.

McDonald Beats Fellow Wildcard Nakashima
In a match between two American wildcards, it was Mackenzie McDonald who proved to be the superior player over Brandon Nakashima.
Both players have played some excellent tennis in the past few weeks (with each making at least one tour-level final) during the American hard-court swing. McDonald had lost the Washington final to Jannik Sinner while Nakashima suffered double heartbreak in Los Cabos and Atlanta.
But those results were enough to convince the tournament organizers to grant them main draw wildcards at the penultimate stop before the US Open.
McDonald needed to stave off three set points in the first set at 5-4 to stay in it. And that gutsy hold piled the pressure on Nakashima who was broken to 15, giving the 26-year-old an opportunity to snatch the set.
McDonald’s vast experience at this level was evident in the second set as Nakashima fought his inconsistent demons. He secured two breaks to round off a 7-5 6-2 win.
Medvedev v McDonald Prediction and Tip
There is always the threat of complacency kicking in and Medvedev could be extremely vulnerable to an upset. But the Russian has been on such a similar run before without showing any signs of smugness. We expect the Russian to cruise into the third round.
Tip: Medvedev to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
