Diego Schwartzman v Casper Ruud Head to Head
Schwartzman and Ruud have been involved in five career, head-to-head meetings till date, with the Argentine holding a commanding 4-1 lead. The pair last met in the third round at the Monte-Carlo Masters this year, with the Norwegian prevailing in straight sets.

Coming into the Cincinnati Masters on the back of a below-par, last-16 finish at the Canadian Open, Schwartzman was drawn to play British No.1 Dan Evans in his campaign opener.
Taming Evans in three sets after recovering from a loss in the second, the Argentine set up a third-round meeting with burly American Frances Tiafoe.
Though Schwartzman took the opening set in a breeze against the American, Tiafoe fought back valiantly to win the second, taking the match to a deciding set.
However, the Argentine regathered himself in the decider to open up a lead and held on to the same to eventually close out a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory.
Though he had it easy in the end against the American, Schwartzman faces a much tougher road to the quarter-finals as he will be up against in-form Norwegian Casper Ruud.
In what has been a phenomenal season for him so far, Ruud has picked up four titles this year and is in contention for his maiden Masters 1000 title at Cincinnati.
Though Schwartzman has had the proverbial wood over the Norwegian in career, head-to-head meetings, Ruud, on current form, would be hard to stop.

Ruud Registers Battling Win against Opelka
Coming into the Canadian Open on the back of a sensational run which saw him lift three titles on the bounce at the Swedish Open, Swiss Open and the Austrian Open, Ruud failed to end up on the champion’s podium as he fell to current World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals.
Seeking to return to winning ways and hold down his title credentials at the Cincinnati Masters, the Norwegian emerged on the losing side of an opening-set tiebreak but bageled the American in the next to storm back into contention.
The deciding set, too, went to a tiebreak but Ruud, this time, finished on the winning side to close out a win in three sets.
In Schwartzman, however, he faces a last-16 rival who has had the better of him in four of five head-to-head meetings. However, Ruud had his own back at the Argentine at Monte-Carlo and would eye an encore at the Masters.

While head-to-head history favors Schwartzman, Norwegian is literally unstoppable across surfaces after picking up four titles this season and would fancy going over the line against the Argentine.
