Jaume Munar v Yosuke Watanuki Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 24-year old Spaniard, and the Japanese, who is a year younger.

Munar Much Happier on Clay
Like most Spanish players, Munar is much more at home on a clay rather than hard court.
He has appeared in three finals on the Challenger tour on his favourite surface in 2021, winning in Antalya, and finishing runner-up in Turkey again and in Marbella.
The following month he reached his first senior ATP final, again on clay, beaten by compatriot Pablo Carreno-Busta in Andalucía.
He went to match his best ever showing at a Grand Slam by reaching the second round of the French Open.
Munar delayed switching to American hard courts until he attempted to qualify for Cincinnati and failed, knocked-out at the second round stage by Richard Gasquet.
He will be hoping that the week he has spent since on the practice courts will have got him up to speed with the faster surface.

Lucky Loser Watanuki Enters Main Draw
Watanuki was actually beaten in the second round of qualifying by the Australian Alexei Popyrin, losing in straight sets. However, he takes his slot in the main draw against Munar as a Lucky Loser.
One of three tennis playing brothers, he had a successful junior career and was once ranked as high as two in the world.
Since turning pro, he has mainly played on the junior tours, winning six titles, most recently a Challenger event on home soil in Kobe, nearly two years ago.
In 2021 he has divided his efforts between playing in Challenger tournaments and trying to qualify for events on the main tour. This will be, though, the first time he has played at this level all year.
Munar v Watanuki Prediction and Tip
Munar may not be an accomplished hard court player, but he should have too many weapons at his disposal against the Lucky Loser who will be playing his first senior ATP match of the year.
Tip: Munar to win: 4/9 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
