Danielle Collins v Carla Suarez Navarro Head to Head
It’s 1-1 from their previous two meetings. Suarez Navarro won at Indian Wells in 2018, while Collins got her revenge in Eastbourne the same year.

It took a while for the World No. 28 to win her first WTA title, but once she won her first career title in Pallermo, she followed it up with another, in San Jose.
Collins continued her winning run in Montreal, extending her streak to 12 matches by beating Jil Teichman and Simona Halep in two close three-setters, before Jessica Pegula brought an end to her streak.
She featured again in Cincinnati, but retired from her first round match against Shelby Rogers, a result of the number of matches that she played leading up to the tournament.
Collins should be ready for the U.S. Open though, and given how she has been performing since coming back from her endometriosis surgery in April, she will be one of the players to beat.
An extremely aggressive player, the 2019 Australian Open semifinalist has won just one match from her previous five U.S. Open appearances but she will be desperate to turn things around this time in her home slam.

Suarez Navarro Ready for One Last Hurrah
Having fought with cancer for nine months, Suarez Navarro returned to action at Roland Garros for a farewell tour. She also played at Wimbledon and the Olympics and is all set for her final act at Flushing Meadows.
A two-time U.S. Open quarterfinalist, the former World No. 6 will be making her 13th appearance in the tournament. Although there won’t be much expectation from her in the tournament, but given the fighter she is, she will test Collins in the first round.
She took Sloane Stephens to three in her first-round defeat at the French Open and then stretched Ashleigh Barty to the hilt at Wimbledon, before bowing out in the opening round.
The 32-year-old finally won her first match on return, at the Olympics, outplaying Ons Jabeur in straight sets, but fell in the next round to Karolina Pliskova in another closely contested three-setter. Into her last tournament, expect her to give her all and sign off in style.

Collins has been sensational of late and she will be the favourite to win this contest, but expect Suarez Navarro to win at least a set before bidding the sport goodbye.
