Playing in the main draw at the U.S. Open for the fifth time, the 26-year-old has won her opening round matches thrice before, but has never gone past the second round.
There is a good chance of her prevailing in the first round once again, despite her dodgy form, but it will need a massive effort from her to go any further in the tournament.

Errani Returns to the U.S. Open after Four Years
Back in the U.S. Open for the first time since 2016, the 2012 semifinalist and 2014 quarterfinalist may not pose the same threat, but who knows if her past achievements can drive her to succeed on her comeback to one of her favourite tournaments.
The former World No. 5 is 16-19 from all matches, across levels this season but her recent form hasn’t been too encouraging. She featured at the WTA 125 in Chicago last week, winning just one match in the tournament. Prior to that she made a first round exit in Budapest and was double bageled by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in Tokyo.
Currently ranked 112th in the world, the Italian did reach three quarterfinals this season in Bogota, Parma and Hamburg and will be hoping to take the positives from those events as she embarks on her 11th U.S. Open.
