Pablo Carreno Busta v Maxime Cressy Head to Head
12th-ranked Carreno Busta has never faced off against Maxime Cressy before this.

Carreno Busta Looks to Emulate 2020 Exploits
Pablo Carreno Busta represents Spain’s best hope for a new Grand Slam champion. Twice a semifinalist at the US Open (including last season when he squandered a two-set lead), the 30-year-old enters the 128-man field this time with plenty of expectations.
Rafael Nadal’s withdrawal for the rest of the season means that the spotlight couldn’t have shone any brighter for Carreno Busta. The World No. 12 knocked out the top two seeds at this year’s Olympics to win a bronze medal for his country.
He arrives in New York on the back of two quarterfinal appearances in Cincinnati and most recently at Winston-Salem. Carreno Busta is 32-12 for the season, with two titles under his name. He has been handed a difficult draw that could see him play three straight American players if the seedings hold.
First up though will be the qualifier, Maxime Cressy.

Cressy’s Serve Makes Him Dangerous
Maxime Cressy is commonly referred to as the man with two first serves. He stands at 6ft 6, and he employs a serve-and-volley style of play. He has a cracking forehand and his net play is above average.
But Cressy’s risk-tolerant approach makes him prone to a large share of double faults and unforced errors. In two seasons at tour level, the 24-year-old has served 150 aces to 90 double faults, and won 79% first serve points.
Ranked 151st in the world, the American big-server found his best level to defeat Guido Andreozzi, Joao Menezes, and Ruben Bemelmans in qualifying to reach the main draw.
Cressy made his Grand Slam main draw debut at last year’s US Open as a wildcard entrant and defeated Jozef Kovalik in the first round. And despite competing well against Stefanos Tsitsipas, he fell in straight sets in the second round.
Carreno Busta v Cressy Prediction and Tip
Carreno Busta should be the clear favorite to win this match, but it would be foolish to ignore Maxime Cressy’s ability of winning cheap points behind his booming first serve.
Tip: Carreno Busta to win AND over 30.5 games: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
