Anastasija Sevastova v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head
These two players have met three times before with Siniakova leading the H2H 2-1. Their most recent encounter occurred at the 2019 Miami Open where Sevastova came out on top 6-2 0-6 6-4.

Her most recent quarterfinal comes on the grass of Eastbourne where she proved she was a worthy Lucky Loser after losing to Mchale in the final round of qualifying. The Latvian saw off Kostyuk and Gauff in the opening rounds before losing to Rybakina.
Currently ranked 63rd, Sevastova arrives in New York aiming to make a run and reverse her negative Win/Loss ratio on the hard courts. An opening-round win would set up a tie with 17th seed Sakkari or Kostyuk.

Siniakova Coming off Cleveland Quarterfinal
Siniakova arrives in New York on the back of a quarterfinal run in Cleveland, defeating Rogers and Hanatani without dropping a set before losing to Kontaveit in a 3-set battle.
The Czech reached the semi-finals of Parma back in May, where she recorded a win against Serena Williams 7-6(4) 6-2 in the second round. This win was backed up by getting the better of Garcia 7-5 6-1 in the quarters, eventually losing to Gauff in the semis.
Siniakova has played for silverware this season in Bad Homburg, however, she lost out to home favourite Kerber 6-3 6-2. Along the way she defeated Gracheva, Pegula, Siegemund, and Sorribes Tormo, dropping just one set.
The Czech knows what it takes to beat the Latvian, so that will definitely give her confidence as she seeks to book a place in the second round.

It is likely to be a close match between these two players, however, based on current form Siniakova is the favourite to advance to round 2 with her consistent depth.
