Sebastian Korda v Nikoloz Basilashvili Head to Head
Korda and Basilashvili have never been involved in a career, head-to-head meeting till date. However, with both proven performers on the hard court, viewers can be guaranteed a fascinating contest as they go against each other for the first time on the biggest stage in tennis.

Though he opened with a straight-set win over veteran Canadian Vasek Pospisil, Korda came unstuck in the fourth-round encounter against his current doubles mate and Italian teen tennis sensation Jannik Sinner.
At his next Tour event, the Cincinnati Masters, 21-year-old fared even worse, finishing in the third round. The American launched his campaign with a facile 6-4, 6-4 victory over Serbian Laslo Dere but went down fighting to current World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in his next.
Already a much-discussed name in the US men’s tennis circuit, Korda has been drawn to face big-hitting Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili in the opening round at US Open.
Though a tough opener, the American, who has scalped some big names in the recent past, will fancy snaring the Georgian in his tournament opener.
His maiden Tour title this year will also stand him in good stead as he bids to launch his campaign on a winning note.

Basilashvili Coming off Cincinnati Opening Loss
With two more titles in his kitty this year – the Doha ATP 250 and the German Open – Basilashvili came to the Wimbledon Championships on the back of a semifinal finish at Halle.
However, he campaign at All England ended in the opening round itself as he went down to two-time champion Andy Murray.
Ranked 39th in singles currently, the 29-year-old Georgian found his top gear early in the North American hard court leg, finishing in the last 16 at the Canadian Open. However, he followed it up with an opening-round loss to veteran Italian star Fabio Fognini.
The Georgian will open his US Open campaign against local hope Sebastian Korda, but, given his proven hard court skills and recent run of results to back the same up, he will be a hard man to beat.
Korda v Basilashvili Prediction and Tip
With no head-to-head history between them, it will all come down to who plays better tennis on the day. While Korda will have the crowd behind him, Basilashvili has the game to put it past the American.
