Reilly Opelka v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head

Reilly Opelka served 33 aces and struck 55 winners as he powered past South Korea’s Kwon Soon-woo in the first round on Tuesday.
The World No 24, who is the highest ranked American surviving after the opening round, needed two hours and 13 minutes to dispatch the Korean 7-6 (7-3), 6-4, 6-4. Kwon did give him a tough fight, particularly in the first set, but errors at key junctures, like the double fault to end the opening set, and inability to win key moments let him down.
Not broken once in the entire match, Opelka won 83% first serve points and 70% second serve points. He also approached the net 22 times, winning 15 of those points.
The 22nd seed, who reached a maiden Masters 1000 final in Canada a couple of weeks ago, is in terrific form, and it will take a massive effort from Musetti to stop him from progressing to the third round for the first time at his home slam. In his previous two appearances, the 24-year-old made it only as far as the second round in 2019 and fell in the opening round last year,

Musetti Wins on Debut
The 19-year-old Italian fought back from a set down to end a six-match losing streak with a win on his U.S. Open debut.
Playing against Emilio Nava, the player he defeated for his Australian Open junior title in 2019, Musetti was edged out in the first set tiebreak; but the World No. 60 bounced back strongly for a 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 victory in two hours and 31 minutes.
Musetti had just 13 winners compared to Nava’s 42, but he was far less error-prone than the American, making just 18 unforced errors against Nava’s 56.
Musetti, who was in sublime form earlier this year, reaching the semifinals in Acapulco and Lyon, made it to the fourth round of the the French Open on his Grand Slam debut. But ever since his Round of 16 defeat to Novak Djokovic, the Italian struggled to win matches, losing five consecutive matches, including qualifiers.
Back to winning ways, Musetti will look to build on the start.
Opelka v Musetti Prediction and Tip
Musetti can be a dangerous player and he has shown that time and again this year. However, given the sort of form that Opelka is in right now, it may be a bit difficult for the Italian to advance. Expect the big American to sail into the third round.
