Petra Martic v Kaja Juvan Head to Head
Martic and Juvan have featured in just one career, head-to-head meeting till date. They played each other in the first round of the Santa Margherita Di Pula clay court event in 2017, with Martic coming through in straight sets.

Coming into the US Open on the back of an opening-round loss to Spain’s Paula Badosa, Martic drew Dalma Galfi of Hungary in the first round.
Keen to get off to a strong start in the year’s last Grand Slam, the Croat, ranked 32nd currently in singles, made light work of the Hungarian. coming through in straight sets and setting up a second-round meeting with in-form Australian Ajla Tomljanovic.
However, her success in the first round didn’t translate into a win in the second as the Croat went down fighting to the Australian in straight sets to see her championship hopes go up in a cloud of smoke.
Martic will eye redemption as she opens her campaign against home favorite Kaja Juvan at the Slovenian Open on Monday. Though the Croat made short work of the Slovenian in their only previous head-to-head meeting, Martic would be wary of a blowback from the Slovenian on home soil.

Juvan Went Down in US Open Second Round
Juvan arrived at the US Open searching for a measure of confidence and belief after crashing out in her her opening round at the Cleveland Open.
Opening her campaign at the Flushing Meadows against Heather Watson of Great Britain, the 109th-ranked Slovenian strolled to a commanding 6-1, 6-4 win.
The victory saw her setting up a second-round outing with Danielle Collins of the US. However, she couldn’t bring her best game out on the park against the American, going down tamely in straight sets.
The Slovenian followed up her disappointing run at the US Open with an opening-round loss at the WTA Open in Karlsruhe, Germany. Taking a run of uninspiring results into the Slovenian Open, she will launch her campaign against veteran Croat Martic.
Though she came out at the wrong end of their only previous head-to-head meeting, Juvan, cheered on by home fans, would look to turn the tables on the Croat this time.

Though Martic and Juvan will go into this first-round clash with a similar run of results behind them, the Slovenian, with the home crowd on her side, would hope to get even with the Croat on head-to-head score.
