Angelique Kerber v Jil Teichmann Head to Head
Kerber and Teichmann have never played each other before. However, both have had fairly impressive runs at recent events and should produce fascinating tennis in their first ever head-to-head clash.

Coming into the US Open on the back of a semifinal finish at the Cincinnati Masters, Kerber opened her campaign at the year’s last Grand Slam against Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine.
And, it was anything but a stroll for the three-time Grand Slam champion as she fell back in the contest after losing the opening set by a comfortable margin.
However, summoning her years of experience and raising the level of her game, the German not only restored parity to the score line but also pipped the Ukrainian in a fiercely-contested third-set tiebreak to win.
Kerber followed up her opening-round victory with two more wins over Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine and Sloane Stephens of the US to reach the last 16.
Up against the hugely promising Leylah Fernandez of Canada in the last 16, Kerber went down fighting in three sets to crash out of the tournament. The Canadian, who came into the event as a qualifier, eventually went on to record her maiden runner-up finish in a Grand Slam.
In her first event since the US Open defeat, the German would launch her Ostrava Open campaign against rising Swiss Jil Teichmann.
However, the Swiss, who recorded her best run in a Tour event at the Cincinnati Masters, won’t be easy meat for the seasoned German in the first round on Monday.

Teichmann Beaten in Round 2 of US Open
Coming into the US Open on the back of reaching a maiden Tour final at the Cincinnati Masters, an in-form Teichmann opened her campaign against Cristina Bucsa of Spain.
Taking the momentum from Cincinnati, the 43rd-ranked Swiss made short work of the Spaniard, winning in straight sets and setting up a second-round outing against Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.
Teichmann, however, couldn’t produce the goods against Kontaveit as the Estonian bossed her from the word ‘go’ to eventually cruise to a 6-4, 6-1 win.
The Swiss would hope to regain the form that took her to her maiden Tour final as she opens her Ostrava campaign against Kerber. However, she needs to produce nothing short of her best tennis to go past the three-time Grand Slam champion.
Kerber v Teichmann Prediction and Tip
Though Kerber holds the aces both in terms of ranking and experience, Teichmann can raise visions of an upset if she plays anywhere close to her best on matchday.
