Laslo Djere v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head
Djere has won both their previous meetings, winning semifinal in Sardinia in 2020 and quarterfinal in Cagliari in 2021.

Djere Battles Past Galan
Seventh seed Laslo Djere battled past Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan in the first round on Tuesday to end a four-match losing streak which began with a semifinal defeat to Hugo Gaston in Gstaad.
The World no. 49, who finished runner-up in Cagliari, needed two hours and 16 minutes to beat the Colombian 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
Both players had plenty of break points in the match, with Djere converting 6 of 17 and Galan converting 5 of 10.
The Serb, who won his two career titles in Rio and Sardinia in 2019 and 2020 respectively, is still looking for a first title this year. Tuesday’s win improved his season record to 21-20. On Wednesday, Djere will be looking to seal a last eight spot for the seventh time this year. Apart from his runner-up finish in Cagliari, he made it to the semis in Hamburg and Gstaad and was a quarterfinalist in Buenos Aires, Santiago and Geneva.

Musetti Edges Out Polmans
Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti registered his first-ever indoor win as he knocked out Australia’s Marc Polmans in the first round on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old needed two hours and 20 minutes to eliminate the qualifier 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Ranked 57th in the world, the Italian improved his overall season record to 18-14 and 7-5 on hard courts.
Semifinalist in Acapulco and Lyon, Musetti had come into the tournament with a 1-7 record from his last eight matches, a slump that started with a fourth-round defeat to Novak Djokovic in the fourth round at Wimbledon.
Against Polmans, Musetti won 61% first-serve points, saved half of the 10 break points that he faced and capitalised on five of nine breaking opportunities.
Can he keep the momentum going?
Djere v Musetti Prediction and Tip
Both players have struggled of late and were made to work hard by their first round opponents. Djere’s struggles on hard courts are not unknown, while Musetti has already demonstrated his ability to dominate players on hard courts. He was a finalist in Biella-2 Challenger and reached the semifinals in Acapulco defeating some top names on the way. Expect Musetti to score a first win over the Serbian.
