Laslo Djere v Kwon Soon-woo Head to Head
Djere and Kwon have never been involved in a head-to-head clash before. While they moved into the quarters with contrasting victories, it would take nothing away from the contest as they go head-to-head for the very first time.

Djere Overcomes Musetti to Reach Quarter-Finals
Coming into the Astana Open following a morale-sapping opening-round defeat at the US Open, Djere opened his campaign against Daniel Elahi Galan of Colombia.
Currently ranked 49th in singles, the Serbian took the opening set by a comfortable margin but the Colombian fought back to draw level and take the contest to a final set.
However, the Serbian recovered just when it seemed that he may have ceded ground to his opponent. Cashing in on an early break of serve, Djere doubled his advantage to eventually come through in three sets.
Going up against feisty Italian Lorenzo Sonego in his next, the Serb took the opening set 6-4. However, the momentum shifted as the Italian came out throwing punches at his opponent and took the second set to a tiebreak.
And, Sonego’s hard work brought him the right rewards as he pipped the Serb in the tiebreak to take the match to a decider.
Between Djere and a place in the semifinals stands Kwon Soon-woo of South Korea. As the two have never played each other before, the Serb would have to trust his strengths more than his opponent’s weaknesses if he is to come out a winner in his next.

Kwon Upsets Lajovic
Carrying the hurt from a first-round defeat at the US Open, Kwon came into the Astana Open in the hope of better returns and possibly, going all the way.
Opening his campaign against Evgeny Donskoy, the 82nd-ranked South Korean thumped the Russian in straight sets to set up a second-round showdown with seasoned Serbian Dusan Lajovic.
Taking the momentum from his win in the previous round, Kwon produced near-flawless tennis to hand the Serb an upset in straight sets.
While brimming with confidence after sending Lajovic packing, the South Korean would have to repeat the template against another experienced Serbian Laslo Djere to reach the last four.
It’s easier said than done as Djere is currently among the Top-50 in the men’s circuit and won’t be easy meat for the South Korean.
Djere v Kwon Prediction and Tip
While ranking and experience favors Djere in this quarter-final clash, Kwon has produced the kind of form that could help him spring an upset on the experienced Serb.
Tip: Djere to win in straight sets: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
