Stefanos Tsitsipas v Nick Kyrgios Head to Head

The players have met twice with Kyrgios winning on both occasions, i.e. Citi Open DC in 2019 and the ATP Cup in 2020

Tsitsipas Hoping To Resurrect Season After Indifferent US Open

While it has been a phenomenal season for Stefanos Tsitsipas, it has not come with the lows he would rather have avoided.

Tsitsipas has reached a career high world number three in the ATP rankings and tasted consistent success ranging from a good run Down Under, the finals at the Mexican Open and a wonderful run on clay with titles at Monte Carlo, Lyon and a point away from the Barcelona title against Rafa Nadal.

The icing on the cake would have been a grand slam title to his name and it looked like he was there as he led Novak Djokovic by two sets to love in the French Open final only to be outdone in the next three sets.

The form and confidence took a dip thereafter with a straight sets loss to Frances Tiafoe in the Wimbledon opener and a none too impressive run at the Tokyo Olympics either.

While it has been a fair run on the US hard courts, Tsitsipas will be disappointed with the loss to Reilly Opelka in Toronto and more so against Alexander Zverev in Cincinnati after being up a double break in the decider.

The Greek was hoping for a good run at the US Open but ran into some tricky battles and bathroom break controversies and resulting in a third round loss to Carlos Alcaraz.

Tsitsipas will hope to hit good form and get into a groove for the rest of the season here onwards.

Kyrgios Hoping To Shine On His Favorite Stage

Despite the form he is in or results he has had, there is no stage Nick Kyrgios likes more than the one where he represents Team World at the Laver Cup.

He has won some very crucial doubles matches for Team World and had some nail biting battles with Roger Federer in recent Laver Cups.

While he has not played much tennis this season, he has pulled off some stellar wins, most notably against Ugo Humbert of France in epic battles at both the Aussie Open and wimbledon.

With Team World down 1-3, Kyrgios has a big Day II ahead in both singles and doubles and will look to use all his expertise at the tournament to get his team back in the contest.

Having beaten Tsitsipas twice already and with a rivalry brewing himself and some others, Kyrgios will be looking to get his nose ahead in some of these head-to- heads.

Tsitsipas v Kyrgios Prediction and Tip

This promises to be a super exciting match to get Day II going at the Laver Cup. With Team Europe leading 3-1, this is all important especially for Team World.

Given this is the stage where Kyrgios thrives, expect him to start as a slight favorite and clinch this in a ‘LaverBreaker’.
