Belinda Bencic v Maddison Inglis Head to Head
Bencic and Inglis have never been involved in a career head-to-head meeting before. However, after a subdued start to the season, Bencic has continued her resurgence since winning the singles gold at the Tokyo Olympics, while the highly-rated Australian has reached the second round on the back of impressive wins. Hence, tennis fans can expect a intruiging contest as the two play each other for the first time on Wednesday.

Bencic Coming off Ostrava QF Loss
More than salvaging a season, which had threatened to go off the rails following a string of defeats and subdued returns from Tour events, Bencic took home the singles gold at the Tokyo Olympics and followed up with quarter-final finishes at the Cincinnati Masters and the US Open.
She also registered two more last eight finishes at Luxembourg and Ostrava but it didn’t take away from the disappointment of not being able to go all the way.
Opening her Ostrava campaign with a delightful straight-set win over Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, Bencic failed to come to the party in her next against Estonian Anett Kontaveit.
Failing to rival the Estonian’s power game in the quarter-final, Bencic went down in straight sets, blowing yet another chance of adding to her lost of career Tour titles.
The World No. 12 Swiss has an opportunity to atone for her disappointing Ostrava show with a title run at the Chicago Open. However, she faces a tricky opener against relatively unknown but highly-rated Maddison Inglis of Australia.
A qualifier at the event, Inglis will have mined a measure of confidence from her win in the first round as well as in the qualifying fixtures and won’t make it a stroll for the higher-ranked Swiss in Wednesday’s clash.

Inglis Battles Past Dolehide
After notching up two wins back to back over German Julia Lohoff and Asia Muhammad to seal passage to the main tournament draw, 23-year-old Inglis drew American Caroline Dolehide in the first round.
Taking the momentum from her qualifying wins, the young Australian fought back after losing the opening set to send Dolehide crashing out in three.
The win will have given her further belief as she faces the daunting challenge of going past World No. 12 Belinda Bencic in her next.
Though the odds clearly favor her opponent going into Wednesday’s clash, Iglis will repose her hopes of an upset in the same fearless approach that has got her this far in the tournament.
Bencic v Inglis Prediction and Tip
While ranking and experience makes Bencic an overwhelming favorite going into this second-round clash, Inglis won’t be weighed down by the pressure of expectations and will throw everything at the Swiss in the hope of an upset.
Tip: Bencic to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
