Diego Schwartzman v Lloyd Harris Head to Head
Schwartzman and Harris have been involved in just one career, head-to-head meeting till date. Their only meeting came in the first round of last year’s Australian Open, with the Argentine prevailing in straight sets.

Schwartzman Screams Past Galo
Coming into the ongoing San Diego Open after wrapping up his commitments for Team World at the Laver Cup, Schwartzman drew unheralded Italian Federico Galo in the first round.
Rising from the disappointment of seeing Team World go down yet again to the star-studded Team Europe, even in the absence of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, the World No.15 Argentine hardly dropped a bead of sweat to go past the Italian in straight sets.
Bossing the initial passage of play, Schwartzman ran up a commanding lead in the opening set and held on to his advantage to win it 6-2.
The second set panned out similarly as the Argentine, wary not to take his foot off the pedal, cashed in on another break of serve to cruise home 6-2, 6-3.
While Schwartzman would surely have his eyes on the title after his thumping win in the opening round, he faces a tricky fixture in his next against rising South African star Lloyd Harris.
While their only previous head-to-head meeting ended in victory for the Argentine, he would be mindful of the strides that the young South African has made since and would have to play at his best to finish on the right end of the result.

Harris Registers Fighting Win against Eubanks
Taking the confidence from a run to the quarter-final of the US Open into the San Diego Open, Harris launched his campaign against Christopher Eubanks of the US in the first round.
The South African, currently ranked 32nd in singles, fell back early in the piece as the American came out throwing punches and before he knew what had hit him, Harris was trailing by a set.
Stung by his loss in the opening set, the South African, who claimed some big career scalps in the form of Russian Karen Khachanov, Canadian Denis Shapovalov and big-serving American Reilly Opelka at the US Open, raised his level by a fair few notches thereafter and nicked out the remaining two sets with relative ease to cruise home in three.
However, between Harris and a place in the quarter-finals stands current World No.15 Diego Schwartzman. While their only previous head-to-head meeting ended in defeat, the South African will be determined to level the score with the Argentine.
Schwartzman v Harris Prediction and Tip
While his superior ranking and head-to-head record will put Schwartzman at a slight advantage going into this last-16 encounter, Harris will be keen to add to his growing list of big-name scalps.
