Garbine Muguruza v Marketa Vondrousova Head to Head
They met once at the Yarra Valley Classic earlier this year and Muguruza destroyed Vondrousova in that match, winning the semifinal 6-1, 6-0.

Muguruza Ends Hontama’s Winning Run
Garbine Muguruza ended Mai Hontama’s terrific tour-level debut, defeating the Japanese qualifier in the quarterfinals of the Chicago Fall Classic.
The two-time major champion started off well, winning the first four games of the match, but the Japanese wasn’t ready to surrender easily and fought back, winning the next three games. Muguruza held serve next game to go 5-3 up and then broke the Japanese a third time to seal the first set.
The Japanese continued to impress in the second set as neither player could hold serve in the first four games. The World No. 9, however, broke the trend in the fifth game and then broke the Japanese again in the sixth game to go 4-2 up. Hontama didn’t hold serve in the entire set, as Muguruza broke her a fourth time in the set, converting a fifth match point in a highly competitive game to seal the contest 6-3, 6-2.
Muguruza, who knocked out Ann Li 6-4, 6-4 in the second round, didn’t have to take the court in the next round after her opponent Victoria Azarenka withdrew from the Round of 16 contest.
On Saturday, the Spaniard will be aiming to reach a fourth final of the season. She finished runner-up to Ashleigh Barty in the Yarra Valley Classic and to Petra Kvitova in Qatar, but didn’t return empty-handed from Dubai, winning her eight tour-level title by defeating Barbora Krejcikova in the final.

Vondrousova Edges Out Collins
Olympic silver medallist Marketa Vondrousova edged past Danielle Collins in the quarterfinal on Friday to reach semifinals for a fourth time this season.
Vondrousova, who fell to Clara Tauson in the semifinal in Luxembourg two weeks ago, needed two hours and 32 minutes to rally past the American on Friday.
Collins took the first set in the tiebreak, but was completely demolished in the second, winning just six points in the entire set as Vondrousova forced the third with a bagel.
The American was back to her elements in the third, which saw both players break each other twice, but in the end it was the Czech who edged through after dominating the tiebreak.
The 22-year-old left-hander, who is aiming to reach a second final this year, had not dropped a set till the quarterfinals. Beginning with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ajla Tomljanovic, the World No. 1 Vondrousova went on to beat fourth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-3, 6-2 in the second round and Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 16.
Muguruza v Vondrousova Prediction and Tip
Muguruza definitely holds the edge going into this contest. She is the higher ranked player, has more experience, particularly in dealing with pressure in the later stages of the tournament, and most importantly, she outplayed Vondrousova in their only previous meeting.
Expect the Spaniard to win once again, but this time it won’t be as easy as it was last time around.
Tip: Muguruza to win: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
