Garbine Muguruza v Ons Jabeur Head to Head
They are 1-1 from their previous two matches, while Muguruza beat Jabeur in the Round of 16 in Hobart last year; the Tunisian got her revenge at Wimbledon this year, knocking out the Spaniard in the third round.
Both the matches had a similar pattern with the player winning the first set going on to lose the match.

Muguruza Gets a Second Walkover
Garbine Muguruza moved into a fourth final of the season after getting a second walkover this week. Her semifinal opponent, Olympic silver medallist Marketa Vondrousova had to withdraw from the final four clash due to an illness, as a result the World No. 9 has found her way to the final with just two wins this week.
The second seed, who received a first-round bye, defeated Ann Li 6-4, 6-4 in the Round of 32 and then got a free pass to the quarterfinal after Victoria Azarenka withdrew from their Round of 16 contest. Muguruza then beat the surprise package of the tournament, qualifier Mai Hontama, of Japan, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinal, before getting another walkover in the final four stage.
On Sunday, Muguruza will be playing in a 16th career final with an aim to win a ninth title. In the three previous finals this year, the two-time Grand Slam champion won the title in Dubai, by defeating Barbora Krejcikova in the title clash, and finished runner-up at the Yarra Valley Classic and the Qatar Open losing to Ashleigh Barty and Petra Kvitova respectively.
Muguruza’s hard court form has been brilliant this year and she heads to the final with a 29-9 record on the surface this season.

Jabeur In Final After Rybakina Withdraws
Ons Jabeur has now got the most WTA wins in 2021 as she notched her 44th win of the season, moving past World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka who has 43 wins.
Jabeur moved into the final after beating Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who retired during the second set, while trailing the Tunisian 4-6, 2-3.
This will be Jabeur’s third final of the season. She won her maiden WTA title this year by beating Daria Kasatkina in the final of the Birmingham Classic. She was also a finalist at the WTA 250 in Charleston but finished runner-up to Astra Sharma.
The World No. 16 began the Chicago challenge with a straight sets win over Hsieh Su-wei and then rallied from a set down to beat Jessica Pegula in the Round of 16. Her biggest win came in the quarterfinals as she powered past the top seed Elina Svitolina in straight sets before her win in the semifinal on Saturday.
Muguruza v Jabeur Prediction and Tip
This promises to be another classic between the two. Jabeur’s form has been brilliant throughout the year, plus she has knocked out tough opponents on her way to Sunday’s final. Expect the Tunisian to clinch a second title by edging past Muguruza in three.
