Alexander Zverev v Taylor Fritz Head to Head
Zverev leads the head-to-head 3-1. Their most recent meeting was earlier this year at Wimbledon which the German won in four sets. Fritz’s only win was back in 2019 on the indoor hard courts of Basel.

Zverev Keeps Rolling
In what had been a good season for Alexander Zverev, winning titles at Acupulco and Madrid, as well as making the quarters at the Aussie Open and semis at the French, things took an even better turn for him post Wimbledon.
Zverev won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, defeating Novak Djokovic en route and looked in ominous form at the Cincinnati Masters defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev in the latter stages.
Zverev was on a 16 match winning streak heading into the USOpen semi-finals where he fell short against Novak Djokovic in a five set battle.
After a successful Laver Cup, Zverev is back on the circuit looking to end the year on a high with strong showings at Indian Wells and the rest of the hard court and indoor season this month and next.
After a first round bye and a three set win against in-form rookie American Jenson Brooksby, Zverev was up against Briton veteran Andy Murray. It is never easy against the former world number one and Murray was high on confidence after a good win against Carlos Alcaraz in the previous round.
Although Murray had the upper hand in each set breaking early, Zverev came back in each to clinch a hard fought straight sets win.
Facing another veteran in the previous round in Gael Monfils, this time the young German was relentless from the start racing to a 6-1 first set win. Although Monfils had his moments in the second set to stay level and even go ahead if possible, Zverev was always right there and eventually broke to close the second set and in turn the match 6-3.

Fritz In Red-Hot Form
Taylor Fritz is in his first ever Masters 1000 quarter-final, incidentally at the same venue where he often visited to watch the tournament as a kid.
Having defeated Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini convincingly in the previous round 6-4, 6-3, Fritz was up against winner of three ATP titles this year Jannik Sinner, who won the Sofia Open a couple weeks ago and started as a favorite in the match.
The American carried his form forward from the previous match looking just as convincing taking the first set 6-4 against Sinner. Athough the Italian looked to push back in the second, there was no coming back as Fritz maintained the momentum to clinch the set 6-3 and book a spot in the final eight.
Ranked No. 39 in the world, Fritz improved to 25-18 for the season following this win. He reached back-to-back semifinals in Los Cabos and Atlanta but lost form since then, and came into the tournament with a 2-6 record from his last eight matches.
Having featured in four semifinals this season, including the ones in Cagliari and Doha, the 23-year-old now has sights on a first ever ATP Masters 1000 final four.
Zverev v Fritz Prediction and Tip
While on paper Zverev may read as a favorite and the match-up has favored him thus far, Fritz has looked ominous this week and his results speak for themselves.
Expect a tight contest with Fritz carrying the momentum he has going for him, but Zverev is playing as confidently as he ever has in his career. The German to clinch a tight three setter and a spot in the semi-finals.
