Daniil Medvedev v Ilya Ivashka Head to Head
There has been no meeting between these two on the ATP circuit but four other matches have yielded in three Medvedev wins. Those came on the Challenger and the Future circuit while Ivashka won their last meeting at the 2018 Davis Cup.

A winner at the Paris Masters last season, Medvedev will hope to defend his title but to do that he will need to shrug off his relatively early exit from the Indian Wells Masters.
That fourth round loss to Grigor Dimitrov would have hurt the Russian, who had earlier clinched his first ever Grand Slam title at US Open. And in doing so he had made it his fourth title of the season and third on hard court surfaces.
Medvedev’s opponent here might not give him too much trouble, especially not after the kind of season he has had but there could be bit of a catch here. It will be a test of his desire to win here, and that’s not just in this match but also as the rounds progress given there’s not a lot in it for the world number two.

In-Form Ivashka Demolishes Ramos-Vinolas
In his own way, Ivashka has had a season to remember with a maiden ATP title win in Winston-Salem and a fourth round appearance at Wimbledon shining through his performances.
Ivashka was an overwhelming favourite, as a result, coming into his first round match against Albert Ramos-Vinolas and showed why was that case.
In a match lasting an hour and 36 minutes, the Belarusian took down Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3, 7-6 (2) to set up this meeting with Medvedev.
The world number 46 faced just two break-points and saved both of them but more vitally got himself the only break of the match in the first set off the first one he received. That was also the only break-point he had in the encounter.
And while Medvedev will prove to be a different kettle of fish, Ivashka will have some confidence coming into the encounter.
