Diego Schwartzman v Marcos Giron Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the two players on the ATP Tour.

Schwartzman Survives Millman
World No. 15 Diego Schwartzman found himself in a marathon affair in the Paris Masters opener against John Millman. The match lasted for a little under three hours and saw the Argentinean win with 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-2. He dished out 34 winners to Millan’s 20 although, he did commit 44 unforced errors and won 68 per cent of the points behind the first serve.
But having survived that thriller, things should get easier for the 29-year-old against the American qualifier Giron.
Schwartzman’s record for the season – including the win over Millman – now stands at an impressive 38-22 and comprises the singles title in Argentina Open and the runner-up feat at the European Open.
In fact, he has had a consistent run on the ATP Tour in the last few events. The number 11 seed reached the fourth round in the US Open and later, the quarterfinal in ATP San Diego, Indian Wells Open, and most recently, in Vienna Open. He is in a decent form and will fancy his chances of making it deep once again.

Giron Upsets Tiafoe
28-year-old Marcos Giron started in the Paris Masters as a qualifier and met the Vienna Open finalist Frances Tiafoe in the opener. In just two hours, Giron defeated his compatriot 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-3, to reach the second round.
His stats in the match were much more impressive than that of Schwartzman’s, having committed just 14 unforced errors and winning 75 per cent of his first service points.
While consistency hasn’t been Giron’s strong suit this season, he has had the moments that have propelled him to his career-best, current singles ranking as World No. 57. His recent exploits include a quarterfinal appearance in Winston-Salem and Metz and a semifinal run in the ATP Sofia.
Last season in the Paris Masters, Giron started as a qualifier too and managed to reach the fourth round after upsetting Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Matteo Berrettini. The question remains if he can do it again this time around.
Schwartzman v Giron Prediction and Tip
Even though both players started off with a win in Paris, their performances have been highly contrasting. Giron has been much more clinical and efficient although, he lacks the pedigree and the kind of experience that Schwartzman boasts. Expect an entertaining tennis match where the Argentinean should come out on the top in three sets.
