Marcos Giron v Peter Gojowczyk Head to Head
In their one and only encounter on the ATP Tour, which took place on the indoor hard courts of Metz earlier this year, Gojowczyk was the victory. The German won the match in three sets.

World No. 57 Marcos Giron arrived for the Stockholm Open following a fourth-round appearance in the Paris Masters. Playing as a qualifier, the American moved past the likes of Frances Tiafoe and Diego Schwartzmann before ultimately succumbing to Casper Ruud.
That was his best ATP performance since reaching the semifinal in Sofia back in September. However, in terms of ranking points, it was in Paris where Giron posted his best results of the season with 115 points. Given the fact that most of his current year has been largely uneventful (win-loss tally 23-20), Giron has certainly done well to up his game in the last couple of months.
Here in Stockholm, the 28-year-old will look to build on that momentum and record another good run. He has a relatively straightforward path to the quarterfinals, where he may potentially run into Denis Shapovalov.

Gojowczyk, Batting Form Woes
Just a couple of months ago, Peter Gojowczyk was taking the tour by storm with a quarterfinal appearance in the Newport Open and later, a fourth-round stint in the US Open as a qualifier. He even carried the same form to Europe when he reached the semifinal in the Metz Open, once again from the qualifying rounds.
These positive results propelled him into the top 100 (currently ranked World No. 85) – all the way from the mid 130s.
However, he is heading for the Stockholm Open on the back of consecutive first-round exits in the Vienna Open, Mouilleron le Captif Challenger, and Paris Masters. Gojowczyk has spent the majority of his season on the Challenger circuits where he hasn’t got a lot to show for.
Clearly, his prospects of making it deep in the Swedish capital aren’t looking that great but he has the experience and skills to prove otherwise.
Giron v Gojowczyk Prediction and Tip
Giron is coming off a much better run on the ATP Tour than his German counterpart. While he will start as the odds-on favourite, it may not be a straightforward win as some may expect.
