Felix Auger- Aliassime v Denis Shapovalov Head to Head

Auger- Aliassime Eyes Maiden Title Again
Canadian Felix Auger- Aliassime has had a good season overall. After a confident run on the grass, where he made the finals at Stuttgart, final four at Halle and the Wimbledon quarter-finals, it was another good run for Felix Auger- Aliassime on the hard courts of North America.
Early losses in Washington DC and Toronto were followed by a fair run in Cincinnati including a win over Matteo Berrettini and coming into New York more confident for the last major of the year. The young Canadian put up strong showings to defeat Roberto Bautista Agut, Frances Tiafoe and Carlos Alcaraz to make the final four losing to eventual champion Daniil Medvedev.
Auger-Aliassime has had a less impressive run thereafter with an opening round loss at Indian Wells and although he made the quarter-finals in Vienna, he was disappointed with a poor second round loss last week at the Paris Masters against German Dominik Koepfer.
The Canadian playing his last event of the year, having failed to qualify for the Tour Finals in Turin next week, has looked good in Stockholm thus far defeating Filip Krajinovic and Botic Van de Zandschulp with immense ease and dare he be thinking of a maiden ATP trophy yet once again.

Holder Shapovalov Prevails After Scare
Runner-up in Geneva, the 22-year-old Denis Shapovalov delivered his best ever Grand Slam performance at Wimbledon, reaching a maiden semifinal, but since then Shapovalov has struggled for form and consistency. The left-hander came into the Stockholm Open with a 5-8 record since the Wimbledon semi-final on shaky ground as a candidate looking to defend his 2019 title here.
Although current form may not be encouraging, Shapovalov has been a difficult player to beat on hard courts in general in recent years as he began the defence of the Stockholm title on the right note as he knocked out qualifier Andrea Vavassori in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.
The Canadian looked to be headed for an early exit as he was down a set and pressured on his serve by Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech who has pulled off some impressive wins this season already.
The defending Stockholm champion fought back hard with some some excellent shotmaking to turn the match around in three sets and book a spot in the final four against childhood friend Felix Auger- Aliassime
Auger- Aliassime v Shapovalov Prediction and Tip
There is often not a lot to chose from between these two young talents and friends. However, Auger- Aliassime has had the better season of late and got the better of Shapovalov both times that they have met this year.
Expect a good contest with Auger-Aliassime getting a match closer to another shot at a maiden ATP title, in three sets.
