Casper Ruud v Cameron Norrie Head to Head

Ruud In Search of First Tour Finals Wins
It has been a breakthrough year for Casper Ruud, winning five ATP Tour level titles of which four were on his favored surface (clay) and also one on the hard courts of San Diego.
A strong and consistent run ensured he became the first Norwegian to break into the top ten of the ATP rankings as well as book a spot in the Tour Finals in Turin.
Beginning his campaign against world number one Novak Djokovic, Ruud put up a good challenge early on, breaking the Serb and even after being broken back, he managed to hold on to take the set to a tie-break.
Once Djokovic won the tiebreak, it was one way traffic for the Serb clinching the match 7-6(7-4), 6-2.
Ruud will be hoping for a first ever Tour Finals win and maybe even a potential semi-final berth on the cards in the days to come.
Second Alternate Norrie Replaces Tsitsipas
Given the format of the tournament and the relatively short duration, it is uncommon to see an alternate play but almost impossible to see a second alternate play.
With the injury to Matteo Berrettini, first alternate Jannik Sinner filled in and pulled off a great win against Hubert Hurkacz, and now with the recurring elbow issues for Stefanos Tsitsipas, Britain’s Cam Norrie fills in as a second replacement this week.
Briton Cameron Norrie has been in tremendous form this season, winning his maiden title in Los Cabos and finishing runner-up on four occasions, before clinching the all important Indian Wells Masters 1000 title, clearly the biggest achievement of his career.
Norrie has gone from strength to strength and being a left hander caused a variety of issues for many players.
While it remains to be seen how well prepared he is for this eleventh hour match, one can expect him to give it his very best and as always make every point count.
Ruud v Norrie Prediction and Tip
With Tsitsipas withdrawing from the tournament, this match increases in relevance especially for Ruud. Norrie has had a terrific year, but so has Ruud and it is unclear how well prepared the Briton was for this match.
Expect a good tussle between both with Ruud prevailing in a decider.
