Daniil Medvedev v Casper Ruud Head to Head
This will be the third meeting between both players, with the Russian winning on both previous occasions. They met earlier this year on the grass courts of Mallorca with Medvedev winning in straight sets.

Medvedev Eyes Title Defense
Defending ATP Tour Finals champion Daniil Medvedev arrived in Turin with a lot more expected of him than in London a year ago.
Medvedev is not only the title holder, but also ranked world number two and the US Open champion where he stopped the Calendar Slam run of Novak Djokovic in the final.
While Medvedev topped the group and came through undefeated, it has not been without its own challenges.
In his opener against Hurkacz, the Russian came back from a set down to prevail in a three setter. In his next two matches against Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner, the matches followed similar trends.
Medvedev was off to a strong start both times, but then lost the second set in the tiebreak despite having his chances. On both occasions, he was then caught up in a drama filled third set tiebreak where he was a point or two from losing the match, but came back with some fine timely display of shot making to prevail by inches.
The defending champion will be hoping for a smoother semi-final to give himself a shot at claiming the title again this Sunday with a potential rival like Novak Djokovic in the way.

Ruud Overachieves in Turin Debut
The 2021 season has been one of many firsts for Norwegian Casper Ruud.
From being the first Norwegian to be ranked in the top ten of the ATP rankings to winning five ATP titles this calendar year, and qualifying for the Tour Finals it has been a breakthrough season for Ruud.
After losing the opener this week in straight sets to world number one Novak Djokovic, Ruud has done well to fight back in both next matches from being down a set each time.
He came back after losing the opener 1-6 to Cameron Norrie to prevail in a decider and then came back from a set and a break down in the second and then a break down in the third, to prevail against Andrey Rublev to book himself a spot in the final four.
It will be a tough task for Ruud against Medvedev, but given the season he has had, Ruud needs to be proud of himself and play with nothing to lose.
Medvedev v Ruud Prediction and Tip
Casper Ruud has already exceeded expectations this season and continued to do so this week. However, the road for him likely ends here for the year.
On these indoor courts, Medvedev starts as the strong favorite and can be expected to clinch the match in two well contested sets.
