Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak was 3-5 on the tour last season, with his best result coming in Sofia, where he reached the quarterfinals after making it to the main draw as a lucky loser.

In terms of opponents, Majchrzak’s biggest win last season came over Laslo Djere on the hard courts of Melbourne-1.

A winner of three Challenger titles and eight Futures titles in his career, the 25-year-old Majchrzak made it two Challenger finals in 2021, but fell to Australia’s Alex Bolt on grass in Nottingham and to Czech Republic’s Zdenek Kolar on clay in Szczecin, Poland.

The singles gold medalist at the Youth Olympics in 2014, Majchrzak had reached a career high ranking of 83 in 2019. The right-hander had a 3-5 record on hard courts last year and is 8-14 overall on the surface at the senior level.

Starting against a lower-ranked opponent, he will be hoping to begin the season with a win.

Pervolarakis Is 0-5 at ATP Cup

He has been a regular for Greece at the ATP Cup, coming in for his third season, but is yet to win a match as he brings a 0-5 record to the tournament.

Four of those five defeats were one-sided affairs, but he did put up a fight against Australia’s John Millman in his last singles match in 2020, going down in a tough three-setter.

In 2021, he fell to Millman and Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain in straight sets.

Yet to register a win at the senior level, the Greek prefers playing on hard courts and has a 15-12 career record on the surface on the Challenger Tour and 80-61 record at the ITF level. In 2021, he had two runner-up finishes on the ITF Circuit, both on hard courts.

Searching for his first career-win on the Tour, Pervolarakis will look to bring out his A-game against Majchrzak.
