Benjamin Bonzi v Mikael Ymer Head to Head
Bonzi and Ymer have not played on the ATP tour prior to this, but crossed paths in a Futures tournament in 2017. The Swede defeated his French opponent in straight sets.

Bonzi Could Be A Force In 2022
Benjamin Bonzi was undoubtedly one of the most dominant players on the ATP Challenger Tour last season. His tour-leading 50 wins in 2021 made him just the eighth player in Challenger history to hit the half-century mark.
Bonzi bagged an impressive six titles to his trophy cabinet, which was a record-tying achievement at some point before Tallon Griekspoor broke it.
Although he ran out of steam towards the end of the year suffering six defeats from his last seven matches, he had precisely two months during the off-season to recharge his batteries and prepare for the upcoming season.
Having started 2021 outside the world’s top 100, Bonzi’s rise has been one of the success stories along with that of his countryman Arthur Rinderknech. The pair of them have since cracked the centurion club. The 25-year-old is now ranked at No. 64 – sufficient enough to warrant an automatic main draw spot in many ATP tour events.
Bonzi will now have a fair crack of the whip on the main tour. And it will be intriguing to see how his game transaltes on the top tier of men’s tennis.

Ymer Creates A Little History
Mikael Ymer had a particularly encouraging season on the ATP tour despite his negative win-loss record. The 23-year-old reached back-to-back quarterfinals last July in Gstaad and Kitzbuhel. But it was at Winston-Salem when he made his mark.
Ymer reached his first ATP final, besting the likes of Albert Ramos Vinolas, Frances Tiafoe and Carlos Alcaraz. Although he suffered a chastening defeat at the hands of Ilya Ivashka in the championship match, he did create a little bit of Swedish history.
The World No. 94 became the first ATP finalist from Sweden in more than a decade. And his comeback win over Alcaraz in the semifinal was of major relevance. Ymer was one of only two players (along with Zverev) to defeat the precocious Spaniard multiple times during the course of the 2021 season.
For a player who has been ranked as high as No. 67, Ymer will be keen to improve his consistency and big-game strategy in 2022.
Bonzi v Ymer Prediction and Tip
Bonzi is a serving machine. He held over 80% of his games during the whole year. But he is no one-trick pony. The Frenchman has superior court coverage and complements his offensive game with some well-balanced defensive shots. I expect him to come out on top in this one.
Tip: Bonzi to win: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
