Liudmila Samsonova v Andrea Petkovic Head to Head

Last season was a remarkable one for the 23-year-old Liudmila Samsonova. Year on year, she made a huge leap in the singles ranking – all the way from #127 to #38.
Now in the top 40, Samsonvova is eyeing further glory and going by her recent form, she is more than equipped to do so. She ended the season with a win-loss tally of 38-23 and a WTA 500 singles title at the German Open. In that tournament in Berlin, the 23-year-old defeated the likes of Madison Keys, Victoria Azarenka, and Belinda Bencic.
Soon after that, she made it to the fourth round in Wimbledon and later, the semifinal at the Luxembourg Open and Courmayeur Ladies Open.
Samsonova ended the season by helping Russia win the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

Petkovic, Slowly Finding her Rhythm
Former World No. 9 Andrea Petkovic reached her first singles final in over five years on the 2021 WTA Tour. After being out of sorts for many years, the 34-year-old German finally tasted some success.
After battling with early-round exits through the entirety of the first half, Petkovic reached the final at the Hamburg European Open, ultimately losing to Elena-Gabriela Ruse. She followed that with a semifinal appearance in the Belgrade Challenger and then, a title run in WTA Cluj-Napoca.
Petkovic, however, failed to build on this form in the subsequent tournaments. In the US Open swing and the closing tournaments of the season, she once again succumbed to her usual ways of losing in the opening rounds.
Samsonova v Petkovic Prediction and Tip
Samsonova will start as the odds-on favourite but Petkovic has a lot more experience than her. Granted that she is out of form, but if she finds her groove, the Russian may be in trouble.
Expect an entertaining game of tennis.
