Alexander Zverev v Felix Auger-Aliassime Head to Head

There have been five previous matches played between these two players and Zverev leads the head to head count 4-1.

The only time Auger-Aliassime managed a win was at last year’s Wimbledon while Zverev has won all three of their matches on hard court surfaces.

Zverev Continues from Where He Left Off

It was a season to remember for Zverev in 2021 when he smashed through his opponents in fine style, managing to win six titles including the ATP Finals and the Olympics singles gold.

And he looks to have continued from where he had left off last season, carving out successive wins in this competition already.

Zverev seemed to have made a slow start against Cameron Norrie in his opener when he got pushed into an opening tie-breaker but since then has rediscovered his rhythm. He completed that victory 7-6, 6-1 before registering a 6-4, 6-4 win over Taylor Fritz of the USA.

What’s interesting to note is Germany, like all others in their group, have won and lost one match and Zverev would need to make it three in three to help them have that chance of topping the group. Auger-Aliassime wouldn’t be an easy opponent though.

Auger-Aliassime Overturns Slow Start

Having continued to trouble opponents throughout 2021 and reaching finals of multiple events (without winning a single title), Auger-Aliassime had started off a favourite in his opener against Taylor Fritz.

Unfortunately for him, after winning the opening set of that match he allowed Fritz to come back into it and fell 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4 loser to the American.

Which is also probably why he didn’t quite start off as a favourite in his second singles match against British player Norrie, odds of 1/1 to his opponent’s 4/5. Auger-Aliassime recalibrated well though, as he carved out a fighting but straight-set win over his opponent, winning 7-6 (4), 6-3 to notch up his first victory of the year.

Can he now test an opponent he has never beaten before on this kind of a surface?

Zverev v Auger-Aliassime Prediction and Tip

Zverev starts off a favourite here for obvious reason and we believe he will run away to his third successive straight-set victory in this competition.
