Amanda Anisimova v Irina-Camelia Begu Head to Head
Anisimova and Begu have featured in just one career head-to-head meeting till date. They played each other in the third round of the 2019 French Open, with Anisimova winning in straight sets.

Anisimova Has Struck Form in New Season
After a disappointing last season, Anisimova couldn’t have asked for a better start to her new season as she got past Alison Van Uytvanck in her opening clash at the ongoing Melbourne Summer Set.
Though she pipped the Belgian in a tiebreak to win the opening set, the emerging American suffered a slip-up in the second to lose 1-6. However, she lifted her game in the deciding set to win 7-6, 1-6, 7-5.
Up against veteran Romanian star Sorana Cirstea in her next, Anisimova produced scintillating tennis to cruise home in straight sets. Hitting the ground running, the American opened a lead in the first set and held on to her advantage to win it 6-4.
Finding a higher gear in the second set, Anisimova thumped Cirstea to scram home 6-4, 6-1. The win saw her set up a quarter-final meeting with another Romanian star Irina-Camelia Begu.
The American would be eyeing another cracker-jack performance against the Romanian to secure passage to the semifinals. However, Begu has got herself a winning momentum with two victories on the trot in the tournament and won’t be an easy prey for the canny American on Friday.

Begu Eyes Payback Against Anisimova
Though she has been on the women’s circuit for a while now, Begu is still awaiting her breakthrough season on the Tour. However, she has shown early promise in the new season, winning two matches back-to-back to reach the quarter-finals of the Melbourne Summer Set.
Begu opened her campaign with a straight-set win over American Jessica Pegula and followed it up with another clinical win over Jasmine Paolini of Italy.
However, between the Romanian and a place in the last four stands Amanda Anisimova. Though she has been dishing sumptuous tennis in the event so far, in Anisimova, she faces an opponent who has also put herself in contention for the title.
While she lost her only previous head-to-head outing against Anisimova, Begu, on current form, would hope to turn the tide in her favor this time.
Anisimova v Begu Prediction and Tip
Anisimova’s win in her only previous head-to-head outing against Begu will out her ahead in the contest against the Romanian.
