Andy Murray v Nikoloz Basilashvili Head to Head
This will be the second meeting between both players. Murray won their only meeting in four sets in the opening round of Wimbledon last year.

Murray In Search of Deep Run In Sydney
Three-time major champion and former world number one Andy Murray ended 2021 with some impressive wins and making the final eight at both Metz and Stockholm, after making the round of 32 at Wimbledon.
The Briton has been on a comeback trail since his hip surgery a couple of seasons ago and despite many setbacks has continued to attempt to get back to the levels he was once at.
Ranked 135th in the world, the former world No. 1 was looking to start well and get a few wins under his belt ahead of the Australian Open starting next week. The Scot has received a wild card for the first Grand Slam of the year, and will be competing in the Melbourne major for the first time since 2019.
A five-time Australian Open finalist, Murray fell 3-6, 7-5, 3-6 to clay-court specialist Facundo Bagnis in the first round at the Melbourne ATP 250 last week.
Murray has looked in better form this week against qualifier Viktor Durasovic of Norway in the opener here in Sydney, dropping only four games on his way to the next round.
The two-time Wimbledon champion will be hoping for a good run this week, giving him much needed confidence ahead of the first major of the year next week.

Basilashvili Hoping To Overcome ATP Cup Showing
After a poor end to the 2020 season and an indifferent start to 2021, Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili had a turnaround for a good part of 2021, winning titles at the Qatar and Bavarian Opens, and making the finals of the Masters 1000 at Indian Wells in the Fall.
Basilashvili arrived in Australia hoping to keep the form running as he represented Georgia in the ATP Cup at the start of the new season.
The tournament did not go the best for the Georgian as he lost to Argentinian Diego Schwartzman winning only three games, did not take the court against Pole Hubert Hurkacz and gave a walkover to Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas being down 1-4 in the first set.
Basilashvili is the second seed here in Sydney and after the first round bye will look to get his week and his year off to a good start with momentum and in turn avenge his Wimbledon loss to Britain’s Andy Murray.
Murray v Basilashvili Prediction and Tip
A good contest on the card between two gritty individuals. While Basilashvili ended 2021 strong, he had a poor ATP Cup, and Murray looked to be getting himself into form in the opener here. A close match awaits us, with the ‘Never Say Die’ Andy Murray prevailing in a decider.
