Alison Riske v Tamara Zidansek Head to Head
Riske and Zidansek have never been involved in a head-to-head clash till date. However, with the American on a unbeaten streak in Adelaide so far and the Slovenian, too, notching up three wins on the trot, expect an explosive affair as the two go against each other for the very first time.

Rising from her defeat to Russian Vera Zvonereva in the opening round of her last event in the ongoing Melbourne Summer Set, Riske made a winning start to her Adelaide campaign, taking down Poland’s Magda Linette in the first round.
Building on from her comfortable straight-set win over the Pole, the American, currently placed at 57th in singles, produced near flawless tennis to breeze past Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine 6-1, 6-3.
The win saw the American set up a quarter-final clash with fellow countrywoman Madison Brengle. The two players were tied at three games apiece in the opening set when Brengle withdrew from the tournament with an injury.
Following her walkover win, Riske will eye a place in the last four in her next. However, between the American and a place in the semifinal stands in-form Slovenian Tamara Zidansek.
The seasoned Slovenian, ranked higher in singles currently than the American, has also recorded three wins on the trot to reach the last four and will be no easy meat for her.

Zidansek Has Eye on the Title Ahead of Riske Clash
After going out in the opening round to Maria Sakkari of Greece at Adelaide International, Zidansek returned to winning ways at Adelaide 2 as she opened campaign with a labored three-set victory over experienced Briton Heather Watson.
After going down tamely in the opening set, the Slovenian fought back to go level at one set apiece. The deciding set went to a tiebreaker, with Zidansek eventually pipping Watson 7-4 to progress to the next round.
She followed up the win with a more commanding and comprehensive victory over Australian Maddison Inglis in her next to set up a quarter-final meeting with American Lauren Davis.
In a match where both sets went to tiebreaks, Zidansek survived anxious moments to come out tops. The win saw her draw another seasoned US star Alison Riske in the last four.
While the two have never played each other before, the Slovenian is ware that a win is very much on the cards if she repeats the template that has brought her all the success in the tournament so far.

While there is no head-to-head history between Riske and Zidansek, the two players will start as equals on current form. However, the Slovenian, on account of being placed slightly higher in the ranking, will hold a slight edge over the American.
