Grigor Dimitrov v Benoit Paire Head to Head
This will be the fourth meeting between these two players, with Paire currently leading the H2H 2-1.

Paire Wins Five-Set Battle in Opener
Paire made his way through a 3-hour 40-minute marathon against Brazilian Monteiro, eventually winning 6-4 3-6 7-5 2-6 7-5.
This was his first win of the season after losing in the opening round in Melbourne, Paire was losing 4-6 6-3 5-2 before retiring. The French man then lost 6-4 6-0 to eventual Adelaide champion Kokkankis.
During the 5-set battle, Paire was also to win 71% of first serve points and tee down 13 aces, successfully saving 71% of break point opportunities he was faced with.
The 32-year-old hit 39 winners compared to 49 unforced errors to be marginally better than his opponent at win 7-5 in the fifth and set up the tie with Dimitrov.
Paire knows what it takes to beat Dimitrov and will be looking to extend the H2H to 3-1. A third-round birth could potentially set up a tie with 4th seed Tsitsipas.

This will be an interesting match, however, based on current form Dimitrov will likely advance to the third round, an important factor in this tie with be consistency for both players.
