Alex Molcan v Pablo Andujar Head to Head
Alex Molcan and Pablo Andujar are yet to play on the pro tour. Thursday’s match will be their first official meeting between them.

Molcan Cramps, But Downs Safiullin
Alex Molcan came into Tuesday’s match knowing full well he was supposed to battle the eighth seed Casper Ruud. But the Norwegian has rolled up his ankle during practice and pulled out just hours before the match.
Ruud’s place went to the next lucky loser in line, and it was the in-form Roman Safiullin who had played remarkably well in singles competition at the ATP Cup for his country.
But against the Slovak southpaw, Safiullin was second best. But the match almost had one final twist. With the score 6-3 7-6 5-7 in Molcan’s favor, the fourth set would be decided in a tiebreak. Molcan raced to take a 5-1 lead, before he started cramping severely, so much so that he lost the next six points.
But Molcan miraculously dug deep into his reservoir to settle the match and he fell to the floor after converting match point. It took a great act of sportsmanship from his beaten opponent Safiullin to walk across the net and help him to get to his chair alongside the physio.

Andujar Master Dzumhur
Pablo Andujar won the first-round match at Grand Slam level for the fourth tournament running. In that span, he recorded one of the biggest wins of his career at the French Open when he knocked out Dominic Thiem in five sets.
This week, buoyed by that run, he ensured he maintained it after dismissing the challenge of Damir Dzumhur in straight sets to reach the second round of the Australian Open for the second straight season.
Andujar, remarkably, has not advanced to the third round at Melbourne Park in a distinguished career than is now entering the 20th season on the professional tour.
The Spanish veteran had fallen in the qualifying rounds at the Sydney International this past week, and had very little preparation for Tuesday’s match. But still, he took charge of the baseline battles against the Bosnian lucky loser who was a late replacement for Ilya Ivashka.
Molcan v Andujar Prediction and Tip
Andujar continues to defy his age and he looks like he could pose a lot more questions to his next challenger. Depending on the seriousness of Molcan’s cramp, I still think the Slovak will eventually win.
Tip: Molcan to win: 8/13 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
