Miomir Kecmanovic v Lorenzo Sonego Head to Head

Before the Australian Open, Kecmanovic travelled to Sydney, winning his opening round against Travaglia 6-2 6-3. However, his progress was halted after losing to eventual champion Karastev 7-5 6-4.

Sonego Eyeing Up Round-of-16 Birth

Sonego dropped his first set of the 2022 Australian Open, coming through in 4-sets against German Otte 2-6 6-2 6-3 6-1 to make the round-of-32. Round one saw Sonego sail past Sam Querrey in straight sets to set up the tie with Otte.

During the clash, Sonego hit 7 aces and won 64% of first serve points, saving 75% of break point opportunities, being broken 3 times during the match, 2 of which came in the first set. The Italian battered 42 winners past Otte and won 27/39 points at the net to ease his way into round 3 after a slow start.

This will likely be a close match and could easily go to 4 or 5 sets. However, Sonego is the favourite to advance to round 4 to set up a potential clash with 16th seed Garin.
