Alexander Zverev v Radu Albot Head to Head
Zverev beat Albot in their only meeting at the U.S. Open in 2019.

Zverev Breezes Past Millman
Alexander Zverev stormed into the third round with a convincing straight sets win over local favourite John Millman in the second round on Wednesday.
The World No. 3 won 85% points on the back of his first serve, fired 14 aces and 37 winners on his way to a 6-4, 6-4, 6-0 win in an hour and 59 minutes. With the win, the German extended his head to head lead over Millman to 3-0 and reached the third round without dropping a set in the first two rounds.
Zverev had beaten compatriot Daniel Altmaier 7-6 (7-3) 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) in the first round on Monday.
Wednesday produced an even greater challenge as the 2021 ATP Finals champion was up against the local boy who had huge support from the vocal crowd. The match started with three consecutive breaks of serve, but Zverev had the advantage with two breaks and he maintained that lead in the set to seal it in 47 minutes.
In the second, the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist got a break in the third game and then saved two break points in the sixth game on his way to clinching the hard-fought second set in 42 minutes.
With two sets in the bag, Zverev took complete control of the third. He dropped just three points on his serve in the final set and eight points in all to bagel Millman and march into the third round. So overall it was another convincing display, however he double faulted seven times in the match, something he would want to correct in the next match.

Albot’s Love Affair With Australia Continues
He made it to the third round for his best ever Australian Open showing last year and the Moldovan has matched that feat this year with a straight sets win over Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic in the second round on Wednesday.
Ranked No. 124th in the world, Albot converted 3 of 11 break points and saved 5 of 6 as he knocked out the Aussie wild card 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in two hours and 19 minutes.
Coming through the qualifiers, the Albot had knocked out Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in a two-hour-and-34-minute first-round contest on Monday.
The Moldovan had failed to qualify for the warm-up event at Adelaide-2, but won all three of his qualifiers for the Australian Open, defeating Italy’s Filippo Baldi, Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki and Portugal’s Joao Sousa respectively.
Last year, he was knocked out by Casper Ruud in the Round of 32 at the Melbourne major. Can he pull off a huge surprise on Friday? Seems unlikely.
