Felix Auger-Aliassime v Marin Cilic Betting Tips
This is turning out to be one heck of an Australian summer for Canadian tennis. Their two powerhouses Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov are main-eventing the second week of the year’s first Grand Slam. And that has culminated on the back of their maiden ATP Cup success in Sydney in the opening week of the calendar.
Auger-Aliassime ended British participation at the Australian Open with a comprehensive straight-sets win over Dan Evans. His experience is growing as evident in his last two Major appearances at Wimbledon and the US Open respectively.
Marin Cilic, meanwhile, is a rejuvenated player. The Croat has risen from obscurity to become one of the most improved tennis players in the past six months. Cilic has returned to the winner’s circle and produced a giant-killing win over fifth-seeded Andrey Rublev in the third round.
Auger-Aliassime starts as the slight favorite on Monday, but we reckon he will falter. Not only does he have a losing record in their head-to-head (0-3, including the most recent defeat in the Stuttgart final last season), he is playing Cilic who is in a happy spot right now.

Simona Halep v Alize Cornet Betting Tips
Simona Halep has started 2022 with a point to prove. And not that she needed to. Halep is such a prominent figure in women’s tennis and an accomplished champion.
After a subpar year in 2021, rumors started to emanate that her tennis career could be winding down soon. Halep got married last summer and had suffered multiple injuries which kept her from competing at two Grand Slam tournaments.
Halep also finished last season without a single title to her name – the first time it happened in nearly a decade. But the Romanian has shrugged off concerns of early retirement and has fully recovered to hit top form in 2022. With an 8-0 record heading to Monday’s Round of 16 encounter against Alize Cornet, nothing will faze the former World No. 1.
Cornet has done her bit to get this far and is on course to break the Grand Slam appearance record of successive participations by the end of the year. But it is hard to fathom Halep losing to the Frenchwoman.

Aryna Sabalenka v Kaia Kanepi Betting Tips
It is a minor miracle that Aryna Sabalenka has managed to survive the onslaught of seeded players exiting the tournament. Her serve, which is a potent shot in her arsenal has been missing since the turn of the year.
It is unheard of for a player ranked as high as the Belarusian to keep serving double-digit double-faults and in multiple matches and still be in contention to win a Grand Slam title.
Sabalenka has managed to quell the challengers with her explosive power in her return games. She did break Vondrousova’s serve five times in her previous win, clearly implying all is not lost. But is she a safe bet to win it all?
I think the second seed is hanging on the ropes. This should be the first speedbump that takes her out of the Melbourne road. Kaia Kanepi brings a winning head-to-head record, having beaten the Belarusian on Australian soil last season. Pound for pound, the Estonian is one of very few players who can match Sabalenka’s aggression and intensity from the back of the court. At 12/5 Kanepi is worth a shot at taking to spring the upset, which in fairness wouldn’t come as a surprise.
