Oscar Otte v Jack Sock Head to Head

Oscar Otte is in desperate need of some wins in order to retain his ATP ranking inside the top 100. The German is capable of playing smashing tennis as he demonstrated at Wimbledon last year by nearly beating Andy Murray.
So far this year it’s not been very good by the German and he is looking for wins on a surface that should suit him.
The courts in Dallas play rather quick and it should suit Otte and his all-out play. The German can employ his strong serve as well as attacking style of play. He scored two wins in Australia along with three defeats and that’s certainly not going to please him.
His last match came in the 2nd round of the Australian Open where he lost to Lorenzo Sonego in four sets. It was a decent match and if he plays similarly in Dallas he can expect to get some wins. Sock is a tricky opponent but his form is nothing to be impressed by either.

Sock Fighting For His Career
Jack Sock was once a superb tennis player that competed at the ATP Finals in London but those days have long gone. Injuries and other troubles completely derailed his career but the passion for tennis is still there. The American is grinding away in lower level events slowly improving his ranking in order to return to the top.
Currently sitting at 147 in the rankings, Sock will have a golden chance to improve his ranking and gather some points in Dallas. On native soil, the American always excelled and the conditions should suit him in Dallas. Consistency remains a huge issue for him and against Otte, he will need to be pretty sharp.
Sock has played 5 matches so far in 2022 winning three of those. His final match came at the Cleveland challenger where he retired in the 2nd set so his fitness will be a question in this event. He did not specify what the problem was but it’s expected he will be good to go in Dallas.
Otte v Sock Prediction and Tip
As the players never played so far it’s kind of hard to predict how the matchup should go. Both have a similar style of play with a strong first serve and a pretty good forehand. Otte is willing to risk more in rallies which could prove crucial if his level is on point. If not, he could end up blasting his way to an early exit which is not something he wants.
The courts in Dallas play rather fast and I expect this to be a rather close match. 3 sets are not off the table but however, I look at it I see Otte as the better player at the moment. He faced better competition this year than Sock and played rather well.
His consistency has also been better than that of Sock as of late and a retirement a few days ago in Cleveland makes me question whether Sock is fully healthy. All of that combined will contribute to Otte ultimately prevailing in the match.
